Then before we left DC we went and let the kids play at a park.

Spontaneous road trip to Virginia/Washington DC! Day 1

I decided on day 4 of the first week of fall break
that I wanted to go on a road trip
to see Nicole and take my kids the Washington DC.

So we loaded up in the car Friday morning and drove
to Virginia in one day :) It is about a 10 hour drive.

We arrived Friday evening and got settled in.
Trent joined us after work and got to Virginia at about 3 am.

The first day we went into DC and saw a few things. It was super crowded
because they were holding an event for the
20 year anniversary of the Million-man march.

We saw WW2 Memorial, Washington Monument, Iwo Jima,
the White House, Lincoln Memorial,
Constitution and Declaration of Independence.

We then fought traffic back to Nicoles house, ate dinner and just visited.
Day 2 of our trip was Sunday, Trent left that morning to go back to work,
the kids and I just hung out and visited with Nicole for the
rest of the day.

jumping which they all LOVED!

We made Halloween sugar cookies!

Watched General conference and
Then just hung out as a family.

It was a great first week of fall break!

Random September pictures

Just some random cute pictures of my kids
throughout the month of September

Trent's birthday!

Trent turned 40 this year!
So of course we had to have some fun with that!

We started out celebrating by going out to dinner the
night before his birthday. We went to a Chinese
restaurant in Louisville. It wasn't the best food but we had fun!

The next morning the girls helped me make his birthday cake.
Thanks to Dawn for sending me all the fun decorations to put on his cake!

Then we sang, ate cake and opened presents.

I'm so grateful to have such an awesome husband and he is the best
father to our children!

Happy birthday Trent, We love you lots and lots!
