Ghost town fun

We went and saw some ghost towns this weekend!
We went up near Price and Helper UT.
My Mom grew up there and told me about a
couple of the towns that were still populated when my mom was in highschool.

The first one we went to is called Hiawatha,
a boy my mom thought was cute lived in this city and it is awesome!
You have to have permission to go there and
so we just drove on the main road and took
a couple pictures but our goal (now that we know who to call)
is to get permission to go there and go explore for a whole day in August!

and it was used to board teachers.

The next place we went to was a little coal mining town
called Coal City,
it just had a few remains but it was still cool.

Then just a couple miles up the same road
we went to a town called National and it had hardly anything left.

Then we found some remains up Spring Canyon
and after we explored we went back to the van to load up the
four wheeler and after everything was loaded
we tried to leave but the battery was dead! How thankful
we were that a group of teenagers had
showed up just about 10 minutes before
we left so they jumped our battery.

This is where the accident happened.

I found out from the teenagers that it was an old coal dispensary and it had collapsed and men had died and supposedly it is haunted. They also told me about a "white lady" further up the canyon that haunts some remains up there looking for her husband who died in a mining accident. We would have gone looking for those remains but because of our dead battery we drove straight to Price to get a new battery.

When we got the new battery Trent went to put it in the van and low and behold the connectors were so bad that he couldn't even get them off the battery so we found a really nice mechanic that stayed open late and replaced the connectors for us.

We decided to stay the night in Price and relax for the evening with food and some swimming.
Owen does not like sleeping in the bed with us so none of us really got any sleep :(

All in all this was an awesome weekend! We had so much fun!

Owen's first haircut!

My baby had his first real haircut today given to him by his Aunt Jenna.
We cut off his curls and it made him look like a big boy!
My baby is growing up :(

Fourth of July and water fun!

We had so much fun this past week and there is still more to come!
It all started on Saturday when we gathered at
Trent's parents house for family pictures and a BBQ!
It was the first time that I got to meet my new nephews
Wade (Brandon and Emily's)
and Landon! (Clay and Madaline's)
They were born two weeks apart just like Owen and Ashley were :)
But they look a lot more alike then Owen and Ashley did/do :)
Both of the boys have a lot of dark hair and are just adorable!

Then on Sunday we had a double baby blessing of Wade and Landon and that night we went back to the in-laws for some fireworks!

On Monday we (Trent's side of the family) gathered at the slash park in Highland and let the kids play for hours and just had fun visiting!

Then today Jenna and her kids met up with Me and the my kiddo and Mabel and played at liberty park and just played and played!

And tomorrow Owen and I will be going up to Payson Lakes for the day to hang out with my side of the family :) And after all that I get to go on a date with my Hubby tomorrow night! :)

Bragging Momma! :)

So I feel like I have the right to brag today about my little man!
He learned 2 NEW words TODAY!
He was playing at his Aunt Jenna's house with a ball and he said
ball twice there and then I got him to say it a few more times at home!

Then I was telling Trent that I needed to go to the store
to get some cheese and
out pops "Cheese" out of Owens mouth!
Then both Trent and I got him to say it at least a dozen more times
before I left with Owen to go get some cheese for dinner!
I was bragging to my Mom on the phone telling
her that Owen learned two words today and that
he loves saying cheese and
as soon as he heard me saying it to my Mom
he kept saying cheese over and over until we got home!

Owen is so stinkin' cute! I am so proud of him! :)

Some June fun!

Owen tasted Bacon, Eggs and Orange juice for the first time this month.
He really liked the bacon but he didn't really like the eggs or Orange Juice.
Owen is a little stinker when it comes to trying new foods.
He wont really eat anything besides baby food, snacks
(gram crackers, goldfish, stars cherrios etc..)
and a couple other table foods.
Whenever we try to give him some he shakes his head no
or he wont open his mouth or he spits it out.
Oh well someday soon he will eat more table food until then bring on the baby food!

We went to Ashley's birthday party at Wines park
and to everyones delight she smashed her cake with style!
Unlike Owen who wouldn't taste it and cried when we sang Happy Birthday to him :)

That brings the count to six teeth but you can only see 1 and a half on the top :)

pick it up and then drop it, it is his favorite thing to do at the park :)

Jenna and her kids came too! We had so much fun!

This morning we took the family to Orem's Summerfest where the girls did crafts, got kids identity cards, ate lunch and rode a carnival ride!
We had so much fun!
